IDSEW’18 International Data Science & Engineering Workshop (12 – 13 May 2018)

İçerik ve Kapsam

Fiber ve bilgi sistemlerindeki teknolojik ilerlemeler sonucunda, veri iletim performanslarının artmasıyla veri üretme, iletme, işleme ve saklama kolaylığı sağlanmıştır. Ancak bu durum dijital veri yığınlarının oluşmasına neden olmuştur. Veri yığınlarına anlam kazandırmak, veri yığınlarını analiz etmek ve bilgiye dönüştürmek amacıyla veri bilimi ve mühendisliği disiplini ortaya çıkmıştır. Veri bilimi ve mühendisliği yöntemlerinin uygulanması ile yöneticilerin efektif ve hızlı kararlar vererek işletme verimliliğinin arttırılmasının yanı sıra toplumun, çalışanın ve kurumların nabzının tutulması sağlanmaktadır. Küresel rekabetin artması ve teknolojinin gelişmesiyle birlikte veri bilimi ve mühendisliği alanında yapılan çalışmalar ile bu konuda uzman kişilerin yetişmesi önem kazanmaktadır. Bu nedenle IDSEW Çalıştayı’nın hedef kitlesi; veri bilimi ve veri mühendisliği alanında çalışan akademisyenler, veri madencileri, veri mühendisleri ve bu alanda kendini geliştirmek isteyen araştırmacılardır.

IDSEW Çalıştayı kapsamında konunun öneminin vurgulanması, gelişmelerin takip edilmesi, alanında uzman kişilerle araştırmacıların etkileşimi ve bilgi paylaşımının sağlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Çalıştay boyunca katılımcılar çalışmalarını poster ile sunacak ve katılımcıların oturumlar arası ikramları ile öğle ve akşam yemekleri Karabük Üniversitesi tarafından karşılanacaktır. Ayrıca katılımcılara yaka kartı, katılım belgesi ve çalıştay çantası verilecektir. Çalıştay sonunda katılımcılara, Unesco’nun 17 Aralık 1994’ten beri Dünya Miras Kenti listesine aldığı ve kendine has evleriyle ünlü Safranbolu’nun tarihi ve turistik yerlerine gezi faaliyeti düzenlenecektir. Bunun yanı sıra araştırmacıların birbirleriyle iletişimini güçlendirmek adına isteyen öğrenci katılımcılara konaklama imkânı öğrenci evlerinde sağlanacaktır.

Content and Scope

As a result of technological advances in fiber and information systems, data generation, data transmission, processing and storage are facilitated with increased data transmission performance. However, this situation has resulted in the formation of digital data stack. Data discipline and engineering discipline has emerged to give meaning to data stacks, analyze data stacks and transform them into information. Implementation of data science and engineering methods enables administrators to make effective and quick decisions to increase operational efficiency as well as to keep the pulse of the society, employees and institutions. With the increase of global competition and the development of technology, the training of experts in this field gained importance with the studies carried out in the field of data science and engineering. For this reason, the target mass of the IDSEW Workshop; academicians that working in this field, data miners, data engineers and researchers who want to improve themselves.

Under the IDSEW Workshop, it is aimed to emphasize the importance of the subject, to follow the developments, to provide the interaction of the researchers with the experts in the field and to share the information. During the workshop, the participants will present their work with a poster, and the participants will have their lunch breaks, lunch and dinner served by Karabük University. There will also be a badge, participation certificate and workshop bag. At the end of the workshop, the participants will be organized a tour of historical and touristic places of Safranbolu, which has been listed on the World Heritage City list by Unesco since December 17, 1994.

Registration Fees

In order to participate in the workshop, it is necessary to prepare a poster covering the topics mentioned in the field of data science and engineering.
